But to answer your question: 1) Under the traditional definition of &#039;blue moon&#039; there has never been a December blue moon. Since the traditional blue moon definition is &#039;the third full moon in a season with four full moons,&#039; that blue moon can only be in November; 2) under the modern definition of a blue moon (2nd full moon in a calendar month), the last December blue moon was in 2001 if you were living in Asia, Australia or countries in that part of the world. 1990 was the last December blue moon in the USA.</description>
